These are a classic British biscuit. They are super easy to make and the ginger makes them a little bit spicy. They are best made with golden syrup but if you cannot find it then try light corn syrup, honey or maple syrup. If you replace the butter with margarine then these biscuits are vegan and lactose free.

Ingredients
- 100g butter or margarine
- 80g white sugar
- 220g flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 2 teaspoons of ground ginger
- 80g golden syrup (or light corn syrup or honey)
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 180C
- Mix all the ingredients together.
- Make 1.5cm balls and place on baking try lined with baking paper.
- Bake for 12 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and nicely cracked.
